I can't comment on most of your posts. Once in a while I get through, maybe 1 out of 20 tries.. I click on any blog I follow and I'm logged out. I have logged in to blogger probably 50 times in the last three days. I am tired of trying. I am still reading all my favorite blogs and would comment if I could.
Blogger should be ashamed. They have issued a one sentence update indicating a "known issue with login errors" since May 24, or as I like to call it, 5 freaking days ago, with no fix in sight. After the complete outage earlier this month and the permanent loss of comments from so many sites I frequent, I can't help but wonder what is next, because from where I sit, it looks like the wheels are falling off.
I used to blog on the ning, and I've dabbled in Wordpress, and there are so many other options for blogging that I wonder how much longer I'll put up with a faulty product before I just move on. The only thing that's keeping me tethered here is the community and the friends I've come to know and love, and the sheer headache involved with starting over.
Thanks, Blogger, for giving me a voice and an incredible network of great blogs, and then hitting the mute button so I can only watch, silent and furious from the sidelines, while you give no indication you are even working on this problem, or a clue when it might be fixed.
There you have it. Blogger sucks, again.

Holy crap, I solved my own problem, at least in the short term. I am bypassing Internet Explorer and using Google chrome. Safari was next on my list, but it appears a simple change in internet browser allows me to comment.
ReplyDeleteNow I ask the universe this question: If a nerdy but determined mom with limited computer skills could figure this out, why can't Blogger at least answer the many frustrated users out there with this simple fix for now? Maybe they just don't care. But I do. Off I go to leave word on the chat boards.
I'll probably never get caught up on all the comments I wrote and watched vanish into the ether...at least I was there in spirit.

Well, I haven't had any problems since the Big Glitch. I use Firefox. Does that make a difference?
ReplyDeleteThat was happening to me last week! Had to keep logging in over and over, nuts! Then yesterday they kidnapped all the Followers. At least they are back, but really, Who went on vacation at Blogger?
ReplyDeleteLike Mary I use Firefox for blogging and aside from the glitch when we couldn't access Blogger for that 24 hrs(?) I haven't had any trouble. Try Firefox
ReplyDeleteI use Firefox as well, and haven't had any problems (other than falling down and trying to slam my chin into the road, but that is another story...)
ReplyDeleteI notice that several people have commented on my blogs by using "anonymous" since they couldn't get on any other way. I have a Mac and use both Firefox and Chrome, occasionally Safari. Seems like most of the problems are in I/E.

I have had similar problems with many blogs, but notice now that I can comment on your blog!
