Pretty Things

It's soggy, gray and dull here today, but before the rains came we had a perfect blue sky, dreamy white snow landscape. I caught some nice pictures in my neighborhood, and I relocated my photo editor as well. I'll spare you the tedious details, and no complaining today. Just lovely things to see.

Eventually the clouds came back but it was still lovely.

These just cracked me up, silly hats for the coneflower seeds.

This one looks like an elf or Santa. Not very dignified.

Lastly, what's wrong with this picture?

Is it:
a) it's Saturday night at 8:30 and the dog and I are the only ones still up
b) the fireplace is not lit, cranking the coziness down a notch
c) it's February 9th and the Christmas/Holiday/Winter tree is still up
d) All of the above

Bet you guessed the correct answer. It's all of them.

I'm trying to decide if Valentines Day or the Winter Solstice is the right time to take it down. It's partially laziness, but more the love of the twinkly lights at night that let me keep it there.

I love the undignified elf, he almost looks as if he can speak!

And your tree is so pretty, I can see why you would not want to take it down. What a lovely, cozy atmosphere you've created. Thank you for your sharing.

  7. lovely Winter shots. My husband enjoys Winter iin particular when he's out shooting (pictures not animals). I think I only noticed the fireplace wasn't lit...oh, and you have 2 computers on? I didn't think about the Christmas tree as I assumed the photo was taken during Christmas.

  8. That snow looks ccccold! Which means you need to lite your fireplace, grab a hot chocolate, call the dog to your feet, sit in that cozy chair and keep your tree up until the first day of Spring!

  9. Funny, my thoughts were "Where are the stockings?" and "Is there enough rum to go around?" :)
What a deliciously warm room. No wonder that tree is still up!
